My Little Man Turns 6!

This weekend was Craig's birthday weekend! I can't believe he is already six! Time sure flies! He had a fun weekend, including a late night with his best friend, Dylan, a soccer game, opening presents, playing with his remote control vehicle, and above all, going to Texas Roadhouse for dinner and sitting on the saddle "like Dad did on his birthday!"

Craig loved his remote control vehicle!

Brynlee liked the remote as well!

Kylee and Ainslee made Craig a birthday cake all by themselves! (I just took it out of the oven)
His sisters love him! And he loves them!

The Tooth Fairy Visits AGAIN!

It just must be the season! Ainslee had a wiggly tooth in the morning, and by afternoon, while playing with Kylee, she lost it! First thing she had to do was call Savannah, her best friend! (They are so funny! Savannah had to call Ainslee the other day when she found a frog under her trampoline!) After I took Ainslee's picture, she said to me, "Don't forget to blog it!" The things they say!

Soccer Pictures

When Craig saw his baseball pictures on our blog, he informed me that he plays "soccer, too, you know." So this one is for him..

The Surgeon General Warns: DO NOT SWALLOW BUBBLEGUM!

I came across this online and it made me laugh so I thought I would share!

All tuckered out!

Let me preface this with the fact that sometimes on Friday nights I let the kids have a "late night" and stay up and watch a movie (sometimes with friends, sometimes not). Anyhow, it affords me a little "me" time to work, blog, etc. on the computer with little interruption. Although, tonight about 10 o'clock (the other kids were still watching the movie) I was interrupted by Ainslee, who typically when it's bed time ALWAYS finds some reason to come out of her room, or stalls to avoid going to sleep. She is my biggest challenge to get to bed. It went a little something like this:
"Mom, can I go to bed now?" (I'm thinking WHAT?)
"Of course!"
"I'm a little tired"
So I take her to bed and tuck her in.
She says, "I will come out of my room when I'm done sleeping. I am just going to take a little nap."
And off to dreamland she went. Shocker! and probably a one time deal! We'll see!

She's my Hero!

Every month Kylee's school has a Hero Hunt Assembly. Students who demonstrate that "hero" quality designated for that month receive an award. This month was "dependability" and Kylee got the award. I am so proud of her and that is definitely Kylee-dependable. She is amazingly dependable. I wasn't at the assembly because I didn't find out she was getting an award. What's even worse is that I was at the school helping in Craig's class, so I could have been there, had I known. How frustrating! But now that I have vented about that I will just have to let it go! Anyway, CONGRATULATIONS KYLEE! We are very proud of her!

Firefighter in Training

Today Ainslee's preschool went to the fire station on a field trip. She came home from school wearing this hat and told us all about their little excursion. First they watched a video about what to do in a fire. They also simulate smoke from a fire in this little house they have out behind the station built just for that. The kids are placed at different points in the house and have to react as if they were in a fire. Ainslee and her group had to put blankets under their door in the room they were in to prevent the smoke from coming in . They also had to stay low to the ground as they crawled down the stairs and out to their predetermined meeting place. They also got the tour of the "firefighter cars" (firetrucks). I was glad to hear about all of the things Ainslee learned, so I know she is prepared in case of a fire!

Porter

I took some pictures of my friend Tammy's son, Porter, who is about to turn 8. Here's one my favorites of him from the other night!

Crazy schedules!

Sports season has sprung upon us. Craig had his first soccer game a few weeks ago, during which time I signed him up for baseball (what he really likes to play) thinking it would be after soccer season. But of course not. They overlap! His first baseball game was last night, and he still has a few more weeks of soccer. So for the next few weeks we have some kind of practice or game almost every day of the week. Plus the girls and all of their stuff! I know there are other moms out there that have way worse schedules to juggle, so I can't complain. I actually don't mind. It's worth it. It's so fun to watch him play, especially because he is having a blast!

Easter weekend

Saturday we decorated eggs for Easter. Lisa & Bill were stopping by for awhile on their way back home, so we had boiled an extra dozen for James. The kids had lots of fun coloring eggs. Brynlee immediately wanted to eat hers after she colored them. But not just one, several! The kids got their baskets Sunday morning before church. My mom and dad came down for Easter dinner after we got home, so they were able to watch the kids hunt for eggs. When we came home, the kids were disappointed that the Easter bunny didn't hide eggs in the backyard or the front yard while we are at church, until they realized that there were many, many eggs by the pool!
