Today Ainslee's preschool went to the fire station on a field trip. She came home from school wearing this hat and told us all about their little excursion. First they watched a video about what to do in a fire. They also simulate smoke from a fire in this little house they have out behind the station built just for that. The kids are placed at different points in the house and have to react as if they were in a fire. Ainslee and her group had to put blankets under their door in the room they were in to prevent the smoke from coming in . They also had to stay low to the ground as they crawled down the stairs and out to their predetermined meeting place. They also got the tour of the "firefighter cars" (firetrucks). I was glad to hear about all of the things Ainslee learned, so I know she is prepared in case of a fire!

Max would be very jealous. He is all about firefighters these days and often plays his own game of "Stop, Drop and Roll". What a fun field trip!
That is a really great field trip, I would like my kids to learn more about that. Ains looks so dang cut in her firefighter hat!
